Over more than two decades, Abrams has produced 100+ hours of television for networks and streamers including HGTV, SundanceTV, Bravo, E!, MTV, Spike, the Travel Channel, the Discovery Channel, USA Network, and Yahoo. His credits include the Emmy-nominated The Writers' Room on SundanceTV, House Hunters International (29 freelance directing assignments across Cambodia, Honduras, Belize, Canada, and the United States), Rocco's Dinner Party on Bravo, Disaster Date on MTV, Mysteries and Scandals on E!, Swamp Murders on Investigation Discovery, the Endemol Digital web series The Smart Show (8.2 million viewers, a 15x increase over its previous season), and the Webby Award–honored branded series Bif Naked Bride. He co-created the format for the Travel Channel's World Poker Tour and pioneered the on-screen “running stats” graphics that have since become standard in televised poker coverage.
In feature film, Abrams served as Co-Executive Producer on the $14 million Joseph Fiennes drama On Wings of Eagles (Sony Pictures, 15+ international territories), produced Mining for Ruby (co-starring Mischa Barton and Billy Zane; iTunes Top-50 Drama), and shepherded the theatrically released documentary Pink and Blue: Colors of Hereditary Cancer. Five of his original screenplays have together earned 30+ awards and laurels — including a Top-4% quarter-final placement at Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest, first-place wins at the New York International Film Awards and Los Angeles Film Awards, and a #7 placement on Coverfly's Red List for the best sci-fi podcast scripts of all time.
Abrams's debut novel Immortality Bytes: Digital Minds Don't Get Hungry (Solstice Publishing, 2024) earned 20 accolades, including five first-place wins — Best Sci-Fi: Cyberpunk (American Fiction Awards), Best Science Fiction and Best Political Fiction (American Writing Awards), Best Humor/Satire (Storytrade Awards), and Best Science Fiction Humor (Indies Today). It received an Editor's Pick designation from Publishers Weekly's BookLife, a “Get It” verdict from Kirkus, and was compared by reviewers to the work of Douglas Adams and William Gibson. His 2025 follow-up short story Aliens Venmoed Me a Trillion Dollars became an Amazon #1 best seller and is available in eBook, audiobook, and paperback.
He gave the TEDx Talk “Sports Can Save Politics,” writes the Produced By magazine column on sizzle reels for the Producers Guild of America, has trained in comedy at The Groundlings, The Second City, and Whole World Theatre, and has performed stand-up at The Improv (Hollywood), The Comedy Cellar (New York), The Icehouse (Pasadena), and Stand-Up NY. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan Honors Program and a certificate from the School of Visual Arts' Summer Program in Advertising and Copywriting.
